General Social Counseling

In General Social Counseling, we offer orientation and decision making assistance as well as information about complex social questions such as:

  • Financing your studies through gainful employment (social insurance, maternity leave/protection, internship, recognized social benefits…)
  • Social Benefits of the Studierendenwerk (STW) (Loans, Food Token Coins)
  • Benefits for soon-to-be-mothers and students with children (increased demand for the measurements in the 12nd Book of the Social Code, monetary support for parents, child money, income support, maintenance…)
  • Potential savings (exemption of Radio & Television License Fees...)
  • Framework of Studies (Health and other insurance, organization of studies)
  • Questions from Students with Handicaps and chronic illnesses
  • Questions from International Students

Our employees are lawfully bound to discretion. Multiple counseling places in the STW are completely confidential.

You can make use of the counseling center offers during the open office hours without registering or outside of the open office hours by appointment.
