Since 2005, the Project Tandem – Student Unions in Discussion has existed with the help of east German student unions who helped to bring it to life. In the process, two student unions each have created so called tandems and introduce regional dishes in each other’s cafeterias. By doing this, they can exchange and compare experiences while their cafeteria guests can become acquainted with the style of another chef’s cooking. Not only will the cafeterias be provided with different regional culinary specialties, but they will also be supplied with a lot of information about other regions.
now, this project is no longer limited to only east German student unions but
even extends across borders of other countries. The Studierendenwerk Thüringen has already been in Frankfurt a.M. for a tandem
exchange and has even been underway in
