Parents studying with a child
For parents (and parents-to-be), studying with a child presents special challenges. The Studierendenwerk Thüringen supports you with many services so that you can concentrate on your studies and feel at ease.
We are pleased to look after your children in one of our day-care centres in Erfurt, Ilmenau, Jena, Nordhausen and Weimar. We also offer flexible childcare on site in Erfurt, Jena, and Weimar, so that you can visit, for example, the library, attend seminars or meet your advisors or professors at short notice. In addition, there are family-friendly housing options in the Studierendenwerk residences. Children up to the age of six can receive a free children's meal in the cafeterias and refectories. Many cafeterias also provide playing corners, diaper-changing stations, microwaves, and highchairs for children. Our General Social Counselling will be happy to answer any questions you may have about studying with a child.
